Early Snow in Kentucky

We got snow pretty early this year! We had a good sprinkling for Christmas and just lately we've had a couple more good spreads. The boys built their first snowman with Daddy! Jimmy's never had a snow that was sticky enough to get a snowman going. Ned didn't even ask any questions, he saw that everyone was building a giant snow ball so he kept packing more snow onto Daddy's work.  He's so smart and observant. Jimmy couldn't figure out how to get his ball rolling.

I found some old scarves, gloves and a hat for them to put on the snowman but Jimmy came back in the house with my old pink scarf and said "Mom, this is a BOY snowman, not a girl." So I had to let him use my brand new scarf because it's the only one that's not "girl" colors. My grandma gave me it for Christmas and she was pretty mad when she saw pictures. Sorry Grandma!

They used purple bouncy balls for eyes and some purple party-blower lips (from the boy's Birthday party) for a mouth. And of course a carrot for the nose.

Later that same day we took them sledding. It was a small hill. There are bigger hills in Louisville but we didn't want to be carrying the two of them up the big hills. We invited our friends from church to come too. Jimmy is at a real fun age. He's doing so much by himself now and he's so much braver than he use to be. Ned is so crazy and will try anything once.

(I tried downloading a video but it just wouldn't take. I'll keep trying though)

The grass on the hill was extremely long!

After being wiped out by Dale, Ned decided that it would be safest to hide by the dumpster while other people were coming down the hill. As soon as he got down the hill he would take off running towards the dumpster so no one else would knock him over.

We had a blast, but Ned had so much fun that he was actually a little sick the next few days. We wore his little body out.

Everything's all melted now. The only bad thing about snow is all the mud it leaves behind.
