I just made the yummiest dinner and I'm so excited about it, I just had to share it with everyone before I sat down and started working tonight.
It's called Pork & Pears. It's crazy easy to fix, takes about 25 minutes to cook, and looks like something you'd get at a fancy resturant.
Ingredients:
4 T butter (I used more than that)
2 Pears, cored and sliced
1 t brown sugar
4 Pork Chops
1 T all-purpose flour
1 c chicken broth (8oz)
1 T balsamic vinegar
Directions:
Slice up the pears and remove stiff centers. (Like an Apple, I went for the red pears, Jimmy thought they were apples). Melt 2 T of butter in a large skillet (large enough to fit all your pork chops later) then stir in brown sugar, Fry pears in sauce until soft, ~6 minutes. Pour pears and sauce into a serving bowl and set aside.
Add remaining butter to that same skillet (this is where I used more butter). Brown pork chops until fully cooked. I seasoned my chops with: Garlic Salt, Basil, Dried Chives, and Pepper. But seasoning doesn't matter too much cause your going to pour a strong sauce over them later. Remove fully cooked pork chops to a platter. ~ 15 minutes.
Slowly sprinkle flour into skillet drippings and wisk. Continue to wisk in broth and vinegar. Cook until thick and bubbly. Return pork chops to skillet to warm and soak in that yummy sauce. ~3 minutes.
Serve Pear Sauce over Pork Chops. Mmm, a delicious blend of sweet and salty.
so many appointments
