Splish Splash Birthday Bash!

Jimmy and Ned's Birthays were in August so we had all of our family and friends over for a cook out. My mom found a blow up pool/slide on clearence at Toys R Us for 75% off! So we used it and had a splash party. We had the pool/slide, a sprinkler under the trampoline, and a sling shot with water balloons. All of the kids seemed to really enjoy themselves.

The weather had been crazy hot at that time. So we had our party late in the evening. I thought it worked out well. All the kids could go straight home into the bathtub and then into pajamas.

I told the boys they could have whatever they wanted on their cakes. Jimmy wanted Batman and Ned wanted Scooby-Doo.

Jimmy told me "That doesn't really look like batman Mom." He was a little snotty about it. I thought it looked pretty good. Jimmy's cake was orange flavored with french vanilla frosting. He didn't like the taste of the orange cake either. Honestly, I didn't care for it myself. So, don't buy the orange flavored cake mix.

Ned's cake was yummy. It was banana flavored cake with chocolate icing. He really, really, really liked his cake. He spent an hour sitting at the table stareing at it. I found out later that he wasn't only looking, the edgeing marks on the sides - totally Ned. He was taste testing. No one evening asked about it! Ha, ha.

Plus, we put Jimmy back on cow's milk this summer, so we had icecream! This was the first party that I had bought icecream for, so I went a little overboard. But boy, all those flavors were good! And it was on sale.

Here are Jimmy and Ned blowing out their candles. We sung happy birthday twice.
