It's T-Ball Time Again

It's T-Ball Time again and Dale is Jimmy's official coach this year. My Dad is the assistant coach and another Dad on the team has requested to help out as well. So I'm lovin' our team this year! There just aren't any crazy kids tackeling the others for the ball! It's great!

You know what's also great? Jimmy is loving it!!! YEAH!! Last year was torture; Jimmy didn't want to do anything that had anything to do with T-Ball. Here, is a picture to prove it, this is what his face looked like through every game:

He'd hit the ball off the T and then cry/stomp his way to the base. Luckily last year they didn't play "outs." He never chased the ball. He just stood wherever the coach told him to stand and day dreamed. It was quite comical. Here is one of my videos from last year:

But this year, he's a completely different kid! He's amazing! He can throw, hit, catch, and pay attention through a whole game. For our second game, he got the ball almost every time! He hit the ball off the T on the first try. And - - -

He Got the Game Ball!

He was so proud and we were so proud of him. Even my Dad was a little teary-eyed. I'm so amazed at my big man. Our persistence last year really payed off.

We do have some first time players on our team this year that remind me so much of Jimmy.  All I can think to tell them is to just keep sending their child out there. I know it sounds mean but, in order to grow,  sometimes kids just need to be pushed out of their comfort zones

Here's Jimmy this year. He is set and ready to catch that ball

Go Jimmy! Your description of last year sounds hilarious. So glad it's working for him this year!!! =) Can't wait until Porter get to the age of sports.
