1 Month Pics of Cas

On those last two I can't decide if I like the color version or the sepia better. What do you think? I've made the baby announcements, but we'll see if I actually get around to sending them out.

Cas has been a crazy baby so far. He cries - A LOT. People say that babies cry for only a handful of reasons = hungry, dirty, or tired. Well, that's not true for Cas, he just cries. I did some research on the internet and he's what mother's call, colicy. He's generally cranky all day and then around 5 o'clock he just goes nuts, constant crying.

This wouldn't be so bad if I didn't start work around 6 o'clock. That leaves Dale with two crazy boys and one out of control infant. It's a good thing I haven't had too much work coming in lately. Dale and I take turns, every 15 minutes we trade. He likes me a lot more than he likes Dale, which stresses Dale out a bit. He still hasn't seen Cas smile.

I think Cas may be allergic to cow's milk. Jimmy cried a lot and was generally weird as an infant; four years later we found out he was allergic to cow's milk. Dale was allergic to milk as a child as well. His parents bought a goat which they milked every morning just for Dale. I asked Dale how much a goat would cost us. He said we don't have enough land to feed a goat.

I've switched Cas over to soy milk this week so we're waiting to see if there is any change in his behavior. If the soy doesn't do anything, I'm going to try the very expensive Hypoallerginic stuff next. They say that stuff tastes nasty and gives the baby diahrea. But I'm not a big fan of soy either, there's been studies showing that soy increases estrogen levels which may lead to femine characteristics in males. They also say that colic usually subsides by four months of age. So I guess it might just be a waiting game.

I bought some fabric this week to use as a baby wrap. I've used it a couple of times now and I love it. Cas loves it too. I found the fabric on clearence as well! How great is that! I paid $6 for  2  $50 Moby Wraps. Once I get the hang of it, I'll take some pictures to show you.
