Primary Sharing Time - January

Well, I wasn't originally suppose to teach this month, but I ended up doing it anyway. So far I've followed along with the suggested lessons in the Outline. But here's my next lesson if anyone is interested.

We're going to learn the song "My Heavenly Father Loves Me." This is one of my favorite primary songs. I even sung it in the talent show when I was in first or second grade. I searched the internet for clip art to go with the song. You'll find them bellow.

I expect teaching this song will take the entire time. But if there is extra time I'll ask the children to draw their favorite part of the song.

I'll start by saying the song in poem form and then ask the kids what they thought of the poem. Discuss some of the things that stood out to them.

Then explain that this poem is actually a primary song. Let a child hold each picture and take time to compare the picture to the words in the song.

Make sure to explain to the children that our bodies allow us to do some pretty amazing things. Our Heavenly Father gave us these beautiful bodies because he loves us so much that he wanted us to be able to do everything that he can do.

For the final lesson this month, I plan on letting the children watch a video. If there is extra time. I will have These pictures printed out on one sheet of paper. I'll let the kids cut them out and glue them on a 3x3 bingo grid. Then play a few games of bingo.

I'm sorry I didn't post anything last November, we were practicing our primary program that month and I didn't teach a lesson. My next month to teach sharing time will be: April, July, and October.
